Secryt

Secryt is a stand-alone uplink encryptor. It encrypts CCSDS Communication Link Transmission Units (CLTUs) using AES-256 in CCM or GCM modes. It also attaches a message authentication code (MAC) to each encrypted command. CLTU encryption is used by civilian space missions such as Landsat 8 & 9, PACE, and RST, and our implementation is in the same style.

Hammers’ cryptographic solutions are in use on two operational NASA satellites, and on two other missions under development and set to launch in 2027.
